Wow! Finding time to blog is a lot more difficult than I remember. I really want to get back on here regularly. I need to figure out how to incorporate it into my daily life. Anyone out there have suggestions? I am always coming up things I could post about but never get to it.

I am in a Spring Basket Swap. I am really excited about. I saw it last year and wished I had been in it. I'll post a link to it along with pictures of the baskets I make and receive.

Where Have I Been Hiding?

I have been missing my blog, along with all the friends I made. Life had just been so crazy that I had to put blogging and my sewing aside. I now live in California. My husband, our two little girls, and I drove across country from Connecticut and arrived here this past June. To say we downsized would be an understatement. We had a two day estate sale and sold everything that wouldn't fit into a 5' x 8' UHAUL. Let me tell you that was hard! Most of my antique and vintage treasures are gone along with family pieces. I am still getting use to living in a small two bedroom apartment after living in a five bedroom house. But, I really wanted to live closer to my sister and brother and their families. Plus, who can't deny the Cali weather. I am glad I am here right now instead of in CT. My husbands parents reported that there is nowhere to put the snow. My brother in New York and my parents in New Jersey say the same thing. Shorts and flip flops in January....CRAZY!

I am getting the creative itch and am getting ready to start setting up a crafting corner our apartment. I really miss my crafting studio on the third floor in my former house, but I will make do. Sewing and crafting really made me happy and I look forward to getting back to it. I miss selling my handmade pretties and vintage goodies on etsy. So keep watching. I will be posting new items that I will be putting in my etsy shop in about a month.

I am glad to be back and look forward to reconnecting with you all.

Oh My Gosh! I have finally figured out how to get back on my blog. I couldn't figure out my password for the past year. I had changed my original email address so I was having trouble getting the chance to reset. I just did, and I am not sure how I did it. I was just fooling around with it, for the last time. I just hope I will be able to get on again.

So much has happened to me in the last year. I promise, I will be back soon to fill you in. I have missed my bloging friends.

I look forward to reading your stories!!! Here is mine. When I was 8 I was trying to catch a baby Gar fish in Galvastine bay. We use to have a boat docked there. While my arm was submerged in water, its mother (or hunter) came up from underneath another boat and hissed at me....It was not just a Gar, but an Alligator Gar. I turned Ghostly white and ran screaming to my parents who were relaxing on the boat. That is something I will never forget!!!! And I have only told a handful of people over the years LoL

As many of you know, my husband and I have been working on our house so I hadn't had time to sew; but I have been busy sewing and am going to open up my shop this week. So for the reopening, "Grand Opening," I decided to give my shop a new look. So I bought this great banner and avatar from a fellow etsian. I also bought some of my business tags from her too. Tiffany at http://www.maxandbella.etsy.com custom made my banner, avatar, business tags, and return address stickers. She is a friendly and lovely lady. Since I wrote about one etsy shop, I figured I would tell you about another one. Denise's shop, http://www.deniseannette.etsy.com is full of her handmade Lampwork beads. Let me tell you, her stuff is whimsical and beautiful. I had the pleasure of selling and buying with her. Below are some of the beads I received from her. First are these sweet red and PINK strawberry beads. THey will make great toppers for my CuPcAkE pInCuShIoNs!!! And ofcourse, the next set of beads are cupcakes. I asked Denise if she could make them and she delivered! They are even cuter in person. I have already made some decorative pins for my pin cushions using these yummy sweet cupcakes. Denise too, is ships quickly and wraps everything safely and with such pretty touches. She is so nice and fun to work with. Make sure to stop by her etsy shop.

Guest Room~Pink Saturday

It took four days to paint the ceiling, walls, trim and baseboard. Plus put in the new carpet. I am so pleased with how it turned out. I had been buying a putting away new linens and extras. The room is not complete but I could not resist the desire to share my pink guestroom with you. I will post the room again for a later Pink Saturday when it is completed. I will be doing a paint finish on the dresser. If you look I have two large pink glass reproduction glass knobs on the top drawer. I have 8 more. The two painted wooden girls (painted by my mom a long time ago) both need repairs on the same braid. I need to arrange the pictures on the walls and add more. And I am sure I will find more to put in the room to accessories. My brother and his pregant wife are coming next week from California. I really wanted to make thier stay special. Today I decided to post pictures of my newest creations. I made these adorable Bunny Pillow Cushions. I thought they were perfect with Spring on its way and Easter around the corner. They could either be used like a decorative pillow or as a pin cushion. I have had one for about 13 years and decided to make a few. I have them up in etsy shop. www.sweetmemorymakingmom.etsy.com

For this bunny, I used a wool felt and added a pretty pink and purple brooch. I love the way it stands out amongst the chartreuse gross grain ribbon bow. I also made a lavender carrot sachet to go with this bunny.

For this one I repurposed an older decorative baby quilt. I thought the colors would be perfect for Spring.

Good Morning My PiNk SaTuRdAy FrIeNdS! Today is such a beautiful day. Even though there is still snow outside, the sun is out and the weather is warming up alittle. I am so excited for Spring and so are the girls. We can't wait to get out and plant our flowers and mini vegetable garden. The girls and I have been experiencing cabin fever for awhile now and I though that I would share a few photos of yet another mischievious endevour my lil' ones got into. Both girls decided to get into some play makeup they had received at Christmas. They found where I was hidding it. So her are Audrey and Jane, my very own "PINK" Umpa Lumpas!!! LOL

Hello Everyone! I have had a lot going on at home and had decided to scale back my time online. I know the girls have enjoyed more time with me. I have a lot of life changes going on, so I haven't been sewing as much either. Good news is that I think I am at a point where I am able to start sewing more and vist my friends in blogland. Happy Pink Saturday! I just have to say that I want to be the lady in this picture by Tilda. Don't you just lov e the colors! Here in Connecticut it is cold and windy and we still have lots of snow. I am tired of shoveling and chipping away at ice. And if I have to thaw out another frozen pipe!!! I would much rather be on a beach laying in the warm sand sipping a PINK Lemonade! Wouldn't you? My sister and I went to Toys r us to get my daughter some gifts for her birthday and to our pleasant surprise we saw PINK. You should have seen us oooing and aaaing! We both wanted a pink Scrabble and Monopoly, but then looked at the price. I've seen them online with great markdowns. So I just might have to order some games! I didn't have my camera with me so I copied pics from the website. So all you pink ladies out there who love pink. Take a peek.

My sister and I love Scrabble. We definately will get this!

The Pink Monopoly game has so many great changes. One of the little figures is a flip. Just so cute! I will be getting this at some point!!!

This game great. It has saying on each block!

Now this would be great for a Pink Ladies Night!!! Make some snacks and maybe a PINK DRINK! Wink Wink! How fun!

I never had the patience for this game but they have it in pink!

AUDREY~A Few Minutes Old

Dan found a blown up photo of Audrey minutes after she was born. Sorry it isn't clearer but I had to post it. It isn't the one with one eye shut but just as cute. I just cannot believe that she has become the cute and sweet and smart little girl I know and love today.

Thank you God for Audrey, Our Blessing. Make sure to cherish every moment you have in the New Year! She was perfect. The perfect way for me to have started my new year.

Audrey's Birthday~Evening Festivities~

Good Evening Everyone! I have a bunch of pictures from this evening. Ofcourse, I missed the pictures of Daddy taking them out in the snow. They weren't out there to long because it is freezing, especially with the wind. I just checked outside and at 10pm it is ZERO DEGREES. And with the wind it is probably colder.

This is Audrey's Birthday dinner. Homemade burgers and fries. And soda too!

Girls wanted to go up to our bed and open presents before cake.

At this age, we buy something for Jane too. We do the same for Audrey on Jane's birthday.

Audrey got a career barbie set. Her new barbie is a pediatritian. It comes with all the tools and two cute babies. One was swaddled in a purple blankie and the other a pink one. Which was Perfect!

Daddy bought them Disney Princess Makeup. Which he decided to open up and put on their faces.

As you can see, never let a man put purple lipstick on. I don't think he could resist! Poor thing is tired though...maybe that is why the purple lipstick is on his face, not just his lips! LOL

She is excited to see the 2 babies.

This present in particular. I bought her a Ken doll and an extra pair of clothes. I was thinking about how she loves Sleeping Beauty and she could pretend this was Prince Philip. WELL...I am already in trouble. lol She got all gitty and asked if I would take his clothes off. I asked why. She said, "I want to see something." ANd YES, your thinking is correct. She just kept laughing and rolling her eyes. SHE IS ONLY FOUR! ~~~big sye~~~

She did get him dressed again and played "getting married with him and a girl barbie."

You can see some of their barbie stuff on the dinning room table. Wet clothes on the radiator from going outside and other barbie and princess stuff from Christmas.

And that was it. I was to tired to take anymore. Who am I kidding. I was all about that chocolate cake and ice cream. :) Anyways....I hope you enjoyed Audrey's BIRTHday pictures.

Audrey, My Sleeping Beauty, was born today at 2:10is in the morning. (I can't believe I don't remember the exact time). Being my first pregnancy, everything was so new and surreal. I would stand by her empty crib at night and imagine my lil' Audrey in it. Of course, no imagination could capture the awesomeness of the real thing! Dan and I were so blessed with a beautiful little. That beauty just radiates from within here little being! I thank God everyday with the prescious little care package he sent. And I am humbled that he loaned her to Dan and I to love and raise all the days of our life here and in heaven.

Doesn't she look like Popeye! This is how she looked when she came right out. I have a picture somewhere of my mom holding her in the delivery room with one eye open. I wish I could find it!

This was were I spent most of my time~Morning~Noon~Night...All Nigth! She had bad reflux so I would stay up/sleep on the couch holding her upright! Of course being a new mom I was petrified so I slept very little!

TODAY IS AUDREY'S BIRTHDAY!!!

Oh I cannot believe that my first born turned 4 today. My little sweet pea!!! How time flies when your busy raising lil' ones! Audrey, on the right, is having fun playing with Jane. I let them open their new play dough for her birthday. This is how the morning started.

I am dedicating my blog today to Audrey. Throughout the day I will be back to post different things about or for Audrey. I hope that you stop back to see!

Audrey is enjoying her Sleeping Beauty vanity table. It lights up and is interactive. She has faux makeup and is able to brush Aurora's hair. This was her number one request from Santa.

What is everyone doing today? I am busy baking and putting the finishing touches on the house. We will be having a small party this evening with my husbands' family and my brother. That is if the roads arn't too bad. We were supposed to get snow but slush, sleet, and freezing rain decided to make an appearance! Makes for a tricky drive. So, to my family and yours stay warm and safe.

My girls are so excited for Santa to come with presents. So as we wait for his arrival. Remember who's arrival matters. Tomorrow is a celebration of our wonderful Savior, Jesus. I thank God for him.

I thought today was Friday. I have been blogging and shopping online and I still didn't realize today was Saturday. At least not until I stopped at fleur de bee, http://fleur-de-bee.blogspot.com/ to leave her a response to a comment she left on my blog. This happens to me time to time. I think because I don't work out home really, that I sometimes loose track of the day. Dan works schedule isn't the Monday thru Friday type, that it is hard to have a reference to the days. Well, I guess better late than never. I wanted to post pictures of all the pink ornaments on my white Christmas tree. Enjoy!

I aslo bought these on ebay the same Christmas. These are sweet mini hat boxes with a dusting of glitter and silk ribbon. They clip on. I use to put them on the garland & tuile on my banister.

GaGa, Audrey's paternal grandmother gave this for her Christmas 2006. I just love it. This precious angel is so sweet. She is titled "Garden Miracle." Fits Audrey perfectly.

GaGa gave this to Jane Christmas 2006 too. Isn't she adorable with the bunny! She is titled, "Loving Kindness." That is Jane to a button! She is the lovey one!

My sister bought me this unique pink shaded and jewelled sconce ornament last Christmas.

Sandra, my sister, sent me this yummy cupcake ornament for this Christmas. She sent me two but the other one wasn't pink. These are from, "Wonderland Bakery." If you love cupcakes or sweet treats real or faux, check it out. The stuff is amazingly sweet!

Snowy Winter Wonderland

Hope you all are warm and snuggly in your homes. Here in Connecticut we are being hit with a winter storm. Really the first one of the season. We are getting another one Sunday. I think right now we are at about 10" and it is still coming down. I love it when it snows, when it is a good snow storm. I know by the end of winter I will say different, but for now it is fun because the girls are having fun with it. I thought I would share some photos. Grab a nice cup of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows.

Snowfall after roughly 30 minutes. This was around 12:30 p.m. today.

I took this picture at around 4:40 p.m. The children who live on the street are all playing in the snow across the street.
Girls were so excited Daddy got home from work because HE takes them in the snow. This is about 7:30 p.m. Even our new puppy is enjoying herself.
They had so much fun. I don't really have any winter clothes for them so they are in three layers of clothes! LOL

I had the darndest time getting Audrey to look up at the camera and smile. Jane was very willing.

Finally...but she said, "Mom Iam too busy." I am amazed that Brownie is still playing in the snow. I was freezing my pippy off while taking pics.

Look at that face. She looks like she is pleading with me! We have had Brownie for three weeks. She is almost 3 months. She is a brindle pitbull. She is our second pitbull. Chloe, our first, died this past May. Chloe was 10 years old. The best dog Dan and I ever had combined!!!!

Good Morning! Welcome to another Pink Saturday. I chose to post about a swap I was in because I received some lovely pink pretties. Priscilla from http://casabellachic.blogspot.com/ had a Vintage Stocking Swap. My partner was Sherry from http://ificouldsetmysoulfree.blogspot.com/ She made such wonderful items. If you click on the photos you will get an ever better look at her exquisit work. Look at all that pretty pink wrapping with white bows. Take a look at the beautiful stocking with vintage pom pom trim. Plus a yo yo brooch that can be taken off, if I desire.

Sherry also made two aprons for my daughters in this cute vintage inspired fabric with children on it. Oh the girls absolutely loved them. As many of you know, the girls love to help me bake. And these will be perfect also because Jane is getting a CUPCAKE MAKER from Dan and I. And Audrey is getting an EASY BAKE OVEN from Gaga and Papa (Dan's Parents). So these are just so perfect.

Sherry also made me a pretty tissue cover and these pretty birdie cards.

I love hankies, especially if they are vintage and pink. Do you see the pretty teacup too. I have it displayed with the rest of my teacup collection. It is so pretty. And on top of the doiley are two pretty yo yo brooches with little crocheted flowers. I wish I could do that. They look so adorable. I might just have to put them on the girls aprons!

Update~On Saturdays Ordeal!

Well, I went on line and found in our local paper that the man that was involved in the horrific experience I had Saturday was charge with third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, interfering with an emergency... Of course, I couldn't read the rest unless I signed up for membership. But I am glad to read that he is being charged. I don't know if I will be called or not, but hopefully he will receive what he deserves!

I must tell you that today I was in a store and I actually got alittle anxious when a man was getting upset with the owner because he wanted a discount but didn't have the coupon. Nothing happened but it is amazing how something can stick with you and effect you. It really stinks! I hate that I had to have that response while trying to enjoy myself shopping.

I just pray that during the holiday season, that people won't loose sight of what the season is truly about! Some people tend to get alittle crazy!

If I do find anything else, I will let you all know! I might stop by the antique store again. Just not sure when!

I also want to thank everyone who left such wonderful and supportive comments. It truly helped me to read such comforting and encouraging words. I truly am humbled! Thank you so much. Lots of Hugs, Ellen

~Today I Experienced A Horrific Ordeal~

I had a horrific experience today. My mom watched the girls so I could go to the grocery store. I had such a tough day with the girls yesterday that Dan told me take $20 and stop by Goodwill. So that is what I did and then I stopped at a little antique store right around it. Well, long story short. A man comes walking into the Verizon store which is connected to the antiques store because one sister works in one and the other works in the other. I was in the antique store and had to move out of the way into the phone store because the sister from the antique store had to help a customer in the phone store. Well as soon as this started to occur another man came in screaming...I cannot even describe it. He was irrate...almost animalistic with his rage...yelling screaming...posturing very aggressively...hand out pointing...I wish I could write what he said... He saw the sister from the antique store came over towards her screaming finger in her face, their dog barked...he screamed at it and went to grab it. I said, "hey" and he postured towards me with his finger out pointing at me and told me to ...shut the F*** up. And the sister from the antiques store tried to call 911 on her cell phone. He hit it out of her hand and then got physical with her...I was trembling...I backed out threw the antique store, went into Dunkin Donuts asking them to call 911 (Instead of calling they were asking whats wrong just looking at me. I was trying to tell them but I was so scared, shaking, and out of breath that I could not exactly say accept that the women over there are being hurt). THey just looked at me. A guy next to me had a cell phone and I asked him to call. I left. The customer that was in the store at the time of this WAS calling. THANK GOD. And as I was walking back, the guy left the store yelling more profanity. I went back in and the woman had blood on her hand and she was trembling. I guess he grabbed her and jacked her up against the wall. Grabbed the smaller dog and threw it. The dog was so scared that it pooped. I tried to get his license plate but couldn't. Luckily, (not really) they knew him. He was a former employee who was resently fired because there was speculation of stealing. Now at this time, the other customer told the ladies to lock the door because he was coming back in his truck. A few minutes later, the police showed up. I stayed and gave my statement. Left, watching all around just incase and tried to grocery shop which was right around the corner. I could feel my blood pressure was high while I went around the crowded grocery store. I didn't cry until I pulled home infront of the house and saw Dan, my husband. He stopped by from work to take the girls back with him to work to Santa at a family Christmas party. RIght now I am just trying to relax from the whole ordeal. I was so scared for my physical well-being. I think that if I hadn't left he may have come after me too. Of course that is only speculation. He was crazy! I just feel so violated. You know I have delt with patients who have become just like that, but that is expected. This is just something you don't expect to see. The woman he assaulted had to be in her late 50's. We'll, see if I get a call from the police. They did put an APB out on him and his truck and have his name. Who knows. I'll have to see if it makes the news. Probably not but maybe the paper! Scary. One thing! By the Grace of God, I didn't have the girls with me. I would have left the store immediately. Experiences like these make you really appreciate your family. And remind me to be greatful for every day I have. Stay safe. Be well. Love your family. hugs, Ellen

Good Morning! It is nice to be back. I have been so busy that I haven't been able to blog much. Between pin cushion sales and the girls being sick over and over, I just couldn't get on her. The girls are starting to feel better and yet are still very cranky! UGH! I am blessed, because my mom is here this weekend to help out. So here I am for PINK SATURDAY. I hope everyone had a wonderful Pink Saturday. I apologize for not getting this up until this evening! Luckily my last post had a pink pin cushion in it. LOL I had to be at work this morning at 7:00 a.m. I thought I would have 10 minutes to put this up. Boy was I wrong! I am not a first shift person. I prefer to work second shift. Right now I work per diem at a local hospital, so I take what I can get!

Last night I took a picture of my pretty pink sign on my front door. I just love it. I am definately starting to get into the spirit of the Season. I cannot wait to get our tree after Thanksgiving.

Good Afternoon! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Today is sunny, windy, and cold. The sky is blue and the perfect Fall day. I wanted to post my first SNOW OWL PIN CUSHION. I think she turned out so cute. I decided to name her Hedwig, after Harry Potter's snowy owl. This is my second owl pin cushion. Many of you may remember my first one, HOOT, whom I created for Halloween. This is an original SMMM pattern. I plan to create more of this during the FALL/WINTER months. I think she turned out simple and sweet. I used a creamy off white wool felt. I am really developing a great love for wool felt. I love the way it works when creating my pin cushions. Hedwig is for sale.

Teatime Pink time Pink Saturday

Today I thought I would share three teacups from my collection. I am sure most of you by now know that I love to collect anything related to teatime. And that I love TEA!

My first teacup is a vintage Royal Albert teacup with very pretty dainty roses on it. I drink from this cup the most! And when my sister comes to visit, she likes to use this one too.

My second teacup is very special to me. My sister went to Ireland this summer for her Honeymoon. Sandra brought this back as a gift for me. My sister share a love of tea, instilled by our mother. I love it. It is a Queen's teacup from Rosina China Co Ltd.
And my third teacup is one I found in a consignment shop. This is from Royal Alberts, "Teacup of the Month," collection. Dan and I were married in April, so I had to get it. This is called, "SWEET PEA." Which I love too because I call my girls my lil' sweet peas!
And finally, I found this picture on the internet. I wish I could remember where I saved it from. I just love cupcakes!!! I think the teapot with the pretty pink rose is just adorable!

My dad built this jelly cabinet and my mom painted it over twenty years ago. I just love it, especially because both my parents made it. It now holds most of my teatime items.

I found this lovely picture at a thrift store and i fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. My mom use to love ducks and had a picture up on the wall that looked very similiar. I just think there is something so innocent about this picture! It will eventually go in my sewing studio on the pink wall!

Here is my latest pin cushion. I found two vintage Avon thimbles and thought they would look so pretty on a pin cushion. I also sewed on bullion roses which look just like the roses on the lovely ladies hat! ~SOLD

Banana Bread Recipe!

So! What do you do when LIFE gives you mushy bananas? You make Banana Bread! I was going to make zucchini bread next but because I had all these browning bananas, I decided to make banana bread. The recipe is at the end of the post and it is the easiest recipe ever! My Mom made it for us when we were kids and I was so happy when she gave me the recipe.

I think it is so important to get your children involved. So I have been getting my daughters to help with baking. It is a great bonding experience for us thre girlie girls! Audrey loved helping me make this bread. Jane joined us but my camera needed to be recharged!

And...vwala! The banana bread is done!

There is only one slice left! This is such a moist and yummy recipe! And when you smoother it with peanut butter, you are in heaven!!!

1 stick butter (room temperature)
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2-3 bananas (I use three)
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla (I always let it overflow)

1. Preheat oven to 350 Degrees.
2. Mash the bananas and then add butter, sugar, eggs.
3. In small bowl or cup, add the baking soda and hot water together to disolve soda.
4. Add soda to wet ingredients.
5. Sift flour and nutmeg in seperate bowl and then add to wet ingredients.
6. Beat on medium until completely blended.
7. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Then change temperature to 325 degrees and bake for another 30 minutes. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes or bread might fall apart.

Hope everyone is having a lovely evening! I have some great news!!!! I found out this week that my youngest brother Damien and his wife Ali are having a baby! YAAAA! I am the oldest of four. I have two younger brothers, David and Damien and my sister Sandra. Damien and Sandra are twins. I have been the only one with children so this is will be so fun for me! Plus, Sandra and her husband celebrated theie one year anniversary. What a great month October has been! hugs, Ellen

I try to have tea parties with my girls often. They really enjoy the time we have together. We invite my sister or my mother when they are visiting. The girls are so funny because they say, "only girls allowed. Daddy can come too because he's daddy." Just to cute.! So I took a picture of the teapot I used for our tea party yesterday, along with the very first teapot tea cozy set I made. The tea stayed nice and warm while I waited for the cinnamon rolls to bake in the oven! I've come a long way!

PUMPKIN BREAD RECIPE!

Hope everyone is having a lovely morning. I just had the last piece of pumpkin bread that the girls and I made Sunday. It tuned out YYYUUUMMMYYY!!! I found a great recipe for pumpkin bread from my friend Jennifers blog, Jennifers Petal Palace, http://jenniferspetalpalace.blogspot.com/ She gave me permission to share it with you on my blog. Sunday was a nice slow day at home. We missed church because the girls were sick and I knew we would all get alittle antsy, so I decided to have them help me back. Audrey helped me from the start while Jane layed on the couch with daddy. But eventually Jane came in to help.

I just love yummy breads, that I decided to post the recipes from my friends and my family. So make sure to stop back for more. Today the girls are going to help me make zuccini bread. I cannot wait! Have a great day. hugs, Ellen

Here are the pumpin breads. This recipe makes 2 loafs. With the following recipe, I will have to tweek the time and temperature to work with my oven. It took me 90 minutes to bake. Next time I will bake them at 350 degrees for 60 minutes and probably 325 for the last 30 minutes. I do something similiar with my banana bread. This way the ends and bottom don't overcook. You might have to do the same thing.

Jen's Great Great Grandmoms (NANA) recipe for Pumpkin Bread

3 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
3 cups sugar
1/2 tsp salt
4 eggs
2 cups pumpkin or pie filling
3/4 cup + 2 Tbsp oil
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup English walnuts

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Sift the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and sugar in a seperate bowl. 3. Mix the eggs, pumpkin, and oil in a bowl. 4. Then add the dry ingredients together. 5. Beat until well blended. 6. Add the raisins and walnuts mixing by hand. 7. Flour loaf pans. 8. Bake 350 degrees for 60-70 min or until toothpick or knife comes out clean. Recipe makes 2 loaves. Enjoy! We did.
Tip: Smother your slice of pumpkin bread with peanut butter and then you will be in yummy heaven!

This is one of my favorite vintage pyrex patterns, Butterprint Amish Rooster in an aqua blue color. This is the last piece I have. I had a casserole dish and set of nesting bowls but when I moved, they broke. So I use this little guy as my butter dish and my garlic spot! LOL
Here is one of two vintage Lenox figurines that my father bought my mother. When my parents moved, my mom gave them to me for my home. If you enlarge the photo you can see how amazing the mother and childs faces are. Being I love this, it has special meaning to me.
Here is a collection of mini teapots. Doesn't the blue forget-me-nots look so pretty. I have a collection of teapots, teacups and other items related to teatime throughout my house! My mom used to make us tea when we were sick. So my sister and I have really taken that and have continued the tradition in our lives. It is really nice to create traditions because I think that it really helps to cultivate family. And as a mother, I am trying to create sweet memories for my girls! Have a wonderful day. hugs, Ellen

Audrey's rose is in her favorite color purple. These roses where photographed at the Botanical Garden in New York. My brother David, takes amazing photos. (I'll have to create a post dedicated to his art.) And for the final rose, I chose a picture I took of a yellow rose from my garden. See the difference in the pictures! My Sister Went Home!

I am so sad! My sister left today. Right now she is in the air flying her way back to California. Sandra was here for two weeks and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wish we lived closer because I definately don't get to see my little sister as much as I would like. Audrey and Jane are sad too. So we have been hanging around the house and lovin' on each other. Lots of hugs & kisses. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to remake their "Nests" today. The nest is a mound of blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, and a book or two, with each girl sitting in the middle. The whole nest thing started when I called my lap the nest. Both girls still love to sit in, "Mommies Nest." Funny how these thing are created. I love it. So I have to say, "poor hubby!" He will be coming home tonight from work to a house full of sad girlie girls!!!

Sweet Hope Cat Pin Cushion

Hello Everyone! I have been so busy. My sister has been visiting from California. My whole family is finally over having colds. The girls are busy with ballet and tap along with their classes at church. And I have been sewing and creating like crazy. I haven't been on her as much as I would have liked.

One of the creations I came up with is another one of my original design cat pin cushions. I named her Sweet Hope. She is being donated for the, "Komen for a Cure," fundraiser that P.E.P (Painting Ebay Pretty) is having on ebay. The fundraiser will be October 19th-25th under ebay ID: Painting-e-bay-pretty. If you scroll down my blog, I have a banner that is linked to this fundraiser. Please go check it out.

I have been touched in so many ways by cancer, not just breast cancer. My mother has lost two sisters to cancer (breast & ovarian cancer). She has two other sisters who have had reoccuring skin cancer. Many family members, on both sides, have had some form of cancer. And two years ago my husband had a cancerous kidney removed. Plus he discovered that his remaining kidney had kidney disease. And he was told that he will eventually need a kidney transplant. I have to tell you I was terrified. Audrey was 1 1/2 years old and Jane was only 5 months old. I was faced with the thought that my girls might grow up without a father. The idea of having to see the pain in my girls eyes when they miss their father, just took my breath away. I don't want anyone else to feel they way I felt. Or the way that so many families feel with their battle with cancer in their life. Please, if you can give.....give. If not monetarily, then with prayer. Pray for those all involved with the fight for a cure! Thank you for taking the time to read this post. hugs, Ellen

This is a wooden egg that I painted about 7 years ago for Easter. Dan and I were newlyweds so I was all about doing cute things for the holidays. This is one of my handmade teapot tea cozy sets. I bought 4 yards of this Laura Ashley decorator fabric, at a store going out of business. I wish I bought the whole bolt!!!

PINK SATURDAY

Here are a few items from my collections. If you haven't heard, I LOVE TEA! Tea has a tradition in our family. My mom used to give us tea when we would be home sick from school and it just evolved from there. My sister got married last October and used Teatime items to decorate the reception. I'll have to post pictures. Here colors were brown and pink!!!

Don't you just love the Vintage Teapot.

I bought this handpainted birdhouse for the Bridal Tea Party I had for my sister before she got married.
I found this at the Yankee Candle "Flag Ship" store in Deerfield, MA. I just love the Combo of the Pink and Polka Dot shade with the white bunny!
Here are some throw quilts with pink in them. I also LOVE QUILTS.
And Last, but not least, Here is a pink and white rose that my brother, an amateur photographer. This was from the the Botanical Garden in New York.

handmade PiNk RoSeS cUpCaKe Pin Cushion~SOLD

I made this pin cushion using fabric from Quilting Pink, P is for Moda. The bottom of the cushion has luscious pink roses with pretty greenery. It is sectioned into six with pin embroidery floss and the bottom has a pink & white gingham button. The cupcake is made with a coordinating pink fabric with pink flowers and pink polka dots. I used a pink silicone cupcake mold to hold the cupcake. I added a pretty green & white polka dot yo-yo plus a vintage raspberry red vintage button. I used a white felt icing flower and sheer white ribbon roses between the cupcake and base of pin cushion. You will also get 7 PINS. Five are handmade. The cushion is filled firmly with premium polyester fiberfill. Any questions, contact me.

handmade Juicy Green Pear Pin Cushion.~SOLD

I made this pear using a batik green fabric. The fabric has shading of green and subtle white polka dots. Very pretty. I used vintage pink buttons and vintage MOP buttons, to create a pretty vinguette. I also made a pink leaf with an embroidered rose bud on it along with a wooden stem accented with a pretty soft pink satin ribbon bow and a vintage faux pearl button. You will also receive the three pins; one pearly pink leaf, one pink ball and one light green. The cushion is filled firmly with premium polyester fiberfill.

handmade Shabby Blue Vintage Rhinestone Pin Cushion.~SOLD

I used a 1930's Vintage Reproduction fabric with white tulips on a blue checkered/gingham background. I used white embrodiery floss and a vintage blue button on the bottom. On top I used a large vintage button with dark blue rhinestones. I then accented with two vintage light blue rhinestone earrings. You will also get two pretty pins. One, is handmade using a pearly blue bead.

I have loved pink ever since I was getting ready for the birth of my first daughter Audrey. When Jane was born 13 months later, forget it, I was in love with Pink. I thought I would show you a few things that are pink in my kitchen.
I found these at the grocery store. Gotta love pink and anything that supports cancer research. Don't the two tones of pink look so pretty! Here is a picture of my coffee and tea tins. My mother bought these for me. I just love how they look. I drink tea and my husband drinks coffee. He's a good hubby because the pink doesn't bother him. ;) I use the tea bag holder for sweetner instead. I think it is just too cute. I found this in a little shop when I was on vacation this summer at Stone Harbor, NJ.
And of course my favorite find. A pink Tea Kettle. I use this every morning and i love it.

Handmade Black Crow Halloween Cupcake Pin Cushion. It measures roughly 3 3/4" wide x 5" tall. I used a tin candy/tartlet mold for the cupcake part of the pin cushion. These are a pair of vintage embroidered doiley's. The measure 8 1/2 x 10 1/4". The have each have matching bouquets of pin daisy's. Vintage Needlepoint Dragonfly framed. I have had this for a long time. I used to collect dragonfly items. The blue is very vibrant and beautiful. Measures 8 3/4" x 8 3/4." The black frame is very chippy and shaped almost like bamboo. This is in excellent vintage condition.

Two New Additions To Our Family!

Thought I would introduce Bella and Cupcake to you all. These are two sweet lil' kittens we picked up Sunday night. Audrey's is Bella the black one and Jane's is Cupcake the gray girl. There 5 weeks so they are tiny. There momma was killed so they were in desperate need of a family. They really are fitting in so nicely. Today I gave them a bath. They didn't like that so much but handled it better than I thought. I'll have to post picks now that they look clean. Have a wonderful night.

I am going to be setting up a sister blog for selling items. Right now I am thinking of, "LMNOP"... "ELLE BELLE"...or "ELLIE BELLY JELLY BEAN." All nicknames I had at one point growing up! My Ballet Beauties

My daughters got home just about an hour ago. My husband took them to, "Granny's Got It" to buy everything they need for their Ballet and Tap classes. They start their first class a week from this Saturday. When Audrey and Jane got home they were so excited to show me their outfits, so they tried them on for me. I was able to take pictures of them practicing their ballet moves. How sweet!!! I was overwhelmed with that, "Motherly Love." My eyes teared thinking about how old they are getting. The two of them are growing so fast. I am so greatful to have two healthy and lovely lil' girls. Thank you Lord! hugs, Ellen

Halloween Anyone?

Hello Everyone! Well, I am back from our short trip to Sun Valley. We had such beautiful weather. I'll post pictures later. What I am really excited about is that I was able to stop at my favorite fabric store while on our lil' trip. I found some really pretty Halloween fabric at, Quilting By The Yard. I tell you it took me two minutes to pick out the fabric and about 45 minutes to wait to have it cut. I am not complaining....oh maybe alittle. Hubby and the girls were waiting in the truck. Dan said, "You'll be quick, right? Ten Minutes." I said, "Definately, I know what I am looking for." Long story short, he came in the store with both girls. The girls were good and so was he. WINK WINK!!! It was worth the wait. I have already started making my HALLOWEEN PIN CUSHIONS. I am so excited to post pictures. The other items in the picture; four halloween tea stained Halloween tags, three black crows with sheer black ribbon and black glitter, and two small pumpkins with twirly wire. I got these accessories from another favorite store, BITTERSWEET. It is so hard for me because I have definately gone Shabby since having two girls. I love soft pinks, and ruffles and everything shab, but I tell you I cannot resist anything primitive country/antique. So I have decided to dedicate different areas of my house to both types of decor. I can make it work!!!! I know I can. LOL I am definately feeling festive and ready for fall and all the wonderful surprises it brings. I never thought I would say that. I think that we had such an eventful summer that I am satisfied and ready to move on. I would love for you to join me as I start to create and share my seasonal journey. hugs, Ellen

Here are the four pin cushions that I am in the process of putting up for auction on ebay. Click on search below. The one on the far left is made from Vintage feedsack fabric. The other three are made from 1930's circa vintage reproduction fabric. All have wool felt bottoms with buttons. I think they all turned out so cute. I added my finishing touches with embroidery floss, vintage and new buttons, rhinestones, brooches, hand made yo-yo's, plastic beads and lampwork beads. I truly love making these lovelies.
